Description

THIS IS THE 1966 “MY HOME IS IN THE DELTA” LP BY THE LEGENDARY MISSISSIPPI BLUESMAN FRED MCDOWELL AND IS IN MINT CONDITION!  THE LP IS ON THE UK SPECIALIST BLUES LABEL BOUNTY, A SUBSIDIARY OF ELEKTRA RECORDS.  FRED WAS REDISCOVERED AND RECORDED IN THE MID-SIXTIES AFTER APPEARING ON SOME FIELD RECORDINGS OF THE 1950s MADE BY ALAN LOMAX. THESE TRACKS WERE RECORDED IN 1963 AND 1964 AND HIS WIFE ANNIE MAE SINGS WITH FRED ON SOME OF THE SPIRITUALS.  I BOUGHT THE LP NEW AS SOON AS IT CAME OUT AND HAVE LOOKED AFTER IT EVER SINCE. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET HOLD OF BOUNTY LPs AND THEY SOLD POORLY. FINDING THIS LP IN THIS CONDITION IS VERY RARE INDEED!  THE VINYL IS ABSOLUTELY MINT. THE COVER IS ALMOST MINT AND THE WHOLE ITEM IS IN AMAZING CONDITION FOR ITS AGE.  DONT MISS THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY!

The Catalogue Number is BY 6022 on the BOUNTY label and is a MONO UK pressing.

The record labels are in STUNNING condition with NO wear and NO writing. There are NO spindle marks. THIS RECORD HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED AND THEN ONLY ON TOP QUALITY HI-FI EQUIPMENT. The vinyl is in SUPERB condition with NO scratches, NO scuff marks and NO signs of wear. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS EVERY BIT OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record must grade MINT! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way! Brilliant!!

The cover is in VERY NEAR MINT condition! It has NO ringwear, NO wear to the spine and NO rubbing. The opening edges are straight with NO edge wear! The front and back cover have five VERY SHORT AND LIGHT creases at the right edge (ie the open side) – most of these are 0.5cm in length. The front cover has a 10cm diagonal crease/fault line which appears to have been created during manufacture – it can only be seen under strong artificial light and in my view doesn’t detract from the overall new look – in fact I never noticed it up to now. The back cover has VERY VERY SLIGHT feathering to the top 1cm of the open edge. There is NO wear to the extreme corners of the cover, front or back. In fact, the cover looks new (see pictures 1 & 2 – the mark at the bottom of the first picture is reflected artificial light, not marks on the cover). The cover retains all of its original glossy look and must grade MINT- if not better! Amazing for its age!

THIS LP AND COVER IS VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION! DONT MISS OUT!

For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
