Description

THE PRETTY THINGS S. F. Sorrow COLUMBIA LP Stereo -1/-1 SCX 6306!

Original UK LP with (Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London) Laminated front/back gatefold sleeve, comes with the original British Patent/Made in England paper/Poly lined inner sleeve, released in 1968, on the COLUMBIA label. Catalogue number: SCX 6306 (Stereo)

Matrix numbers read:

A-Side: YAX 3738-1

B-Side: YAX 3739-1

Sleeve/Record: VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD CONDITION (*Play varies between EXCELLENT and VERY GOOD)

Sleeve maintains a clean solid appearance throughout, displays some record sleeve ring wear, mainly evident on the back, with some outlined laminate dulling evident, front sleeve has four small light, superficial half-moon laminate creases/lifts with some smaller similar style creases/lifts overlapping the bottom sleeve and spine’s sleeve edges. Sleeve has had a small light corner knock on the front top right hand side, which has left some laminate creases on the corner and some light superficial creases on the two inside gatefold sleeves, corresponding corners. The sleeve has a slightly wavy appearance around the bottom right hand corner near the EMI/Columbia printed logo, some light touches of corner wear can be seen. All spine print is clear and mostly intact. Middle gatefold sleeve appearance is clean (VERY GOOD+), has some minor slight/light sleeve soiling (ingrained dirt) on both the top and bottom inside edges. Sleeve has no rips/tears, no seem splits, no edge wear, no writing and no other sleeve creases (apart from already mentioned). Overall sleeve is graded as in VERY GOOD condition. The original Made in England paper/Poly lined inner sleeve, displays some light browning with age, some small light corner creases and has a tiny top edge tear, overall in VERY GOOD condition.

Both textured record labels are clean in appearance, with no major wear/damage evident, some small light spindle hole sheen trail marks can be seen on both sides. Playing surfaces and matrix areas retain the original glossy sheen, displays some large/medium/small surface scuffs/marks (but not excessive to any degree), consisting of nothing heavy or to deep and with only one hairline scratch  that you can feel slightly on the third track on the B-side, with the rest being smooth to the touch. The majority of surface scuffs/marks are mainly soft light barely visible, fine line/hairline type surfaces scuffs which only show up/appear when viewed at closely whilst angled under a strong bright light. Record grades visually as VERY GOOD condition.

*Play varies between EXCELLENT and VERY GOOD in places, some parts are slightly more affected with surface noise and some occasional background passing clicks which are evident when playing. The intro start of track 2 (quieter harmony vocal part) on the A-side has some medium audible background crackles and clicks (not distorted/underlying sound is clear) but superficial noise is evident, however this clear up to a considerable degree when the music tempo changes into the main essence of the track. Track 3, 4 and 5 on the B-side have some low level background passing clicks, which appears in the background intermittently dependent on the background music’s intensity, however track 5 is affected with a consistent audible background passing click owing to the acoustics of the track. Overall a presentable sleeve and primarily a VERY GOOD playing copy.
