Description
Original rare mono first pressing of Kinks by The Kinks. Contains the classic mod anthem "You Really Got Me".
The cover is in good condition for the year with plenty of age-related wear and one tiny tear (6-7mm) at the sleeve opening. Carol Baxter of Kent, bless her, has written her name and address on the rear of the cover as was the fashion in those days. Please see the photos for a good idea of the cover condition. There don't appear to be any splits in the spine, top or bottom.
The record itself has been well played and looks a bit bruised and battered, but I HAVE played it through and although there is some static crackling, there was no major popping which was a pleasant surprise. It played through with no jumps or skips on my turntable. There are also no warps as far as I can tell. The label has had a piece of sticky tape on it which has left a significant mark.
Runout side A, stamped/etched: NN 1096 - A2T (looks like A1T has been etched into A2T by hand) Runout side B, stamped/etched: NN 1096 - B2T
So, it's an opportunity to get a rare 60's classic for a good price.
