Description

What you are looking at is the American version of Waiting For The Sun by the one and only Doors. Forget about the England mono version, or any other monophonic version that you may run into. This is the hardest to find version. How many times have you seen the American mono version on eBay? I've seen only one in several years.

I run into a different UK mono version a couple of times a month. I can't recall the last time I've seen an American version on here. I've been told that there were only about 1000 copies of this album made in mono,
(and how many are really left?) for American release, in 1968. The reason why numbers were so low is because MONO versions, used by AM radio stations, were being phased out the same year (1968) to make room for STEREO versions being used on FM radio stations. This is the last USA Doors LP pressed in MONO.

Goldmine Record Album Price Guide has this USA domestic wax (EKL 4024) at a $1000.00 price tag for near mint condition! This is almost twice as high as the next most costly record by The Doors (Which would be a $600.00 NM for Strange Days mono - and then $200.00 NM for their debut LP in mono.)

I have been very strict at grading this record (and cover) and VG+ is very appropriate.I'm using Goldmine standards.  There are a couple of very very light scratches on this record, and there are a couple of light scuff marks. It plays all the way through with minimal background noise. It does not affect the play these light scratches. But they are only seen with a 100 watt light bulb up close. The vinyl still has a lot of luster, please see the photos.

This record still holds it's original shine and luster! The labels on both sides of this record are in perfect condition. There is no spindle wear on side 1 and some slight wear on side 2. It looks like it was played very little.
There's very light ring wear on the back portion of the cover and a slight scuff mark on the back (as I have pictured). The seams are not split, but on a small section, it's showing signs of wear. This is a true gem and will be an investment for the winning bidder. Well taken care of and has been the pride of my collection for quite some time.

How many of these 1000 are still left? Out of what's remaining, how many are still in really great shape? Nobody knows, but I bet the number is really low low low. Do you really want to pass this up? I was so overwhelmed with delight when I first ran into this record... now it's your turn.

I only accept PayPal for this item... it's quick, it's easy and it's safe. Everything that I ship off will always be well packaged. I will ship internationally. A record of this magnitude... insurance is a must. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, I will be more than glad to answer them. Please look at the photos carefully!
If you have questions about shipping and insurance and you live in another country, please send me your postal code. This will be insured for full value.

I have other pieces of rare vinyl coming up on ebay very soon.
Thanks for looking.
