Description

The Damned - Damned Damned Damned LP (original mispress and sticker)
This is one of the originals and if you are reading this you probably know what I'm talking about already.
However, for those that do not know: this record was released in 1977 with the wrong band picture on the rear of the sleeve, showing Eddie and the Hotrods instead of The Damned and an "erratum sticker" was attached explaining the mistake.
Years later, it was admitted by the record company (Stiff Records) that this was in fact deliberate by way of instantly creating a collectible album (clever !) There were only 2000 pressed like this, so it is obviously a rarity and is now highly sought after.
Cover: has some light crease marks across the top front (see pic) and faint wear marks top front centre (see pic). Some minor spine wear, but more pronounced at bottom opening edge (see pic). Rear of cover has light wear/stain marks mainly top and bottom, which are more visible as the sleeve is matt finish and white (again see pics).
Inner sleeve is plain white original with some staining and creases, says "Made in Great Britain" and has the patent number.
Vinyl: overall condition is very good, a couple of visible surface marks, including a one on side two across 3 or 4 tracks, but these are very light surface marks not creating an audible click and are barely visible. I have tried to photograph them, but they barely show up. Very slight ring wear visible, no apparent spindle wear at all. No warping at all, it runs as flat as a pancake on the turntable.
The most important point is that it plays beautifully. There is minimal surface noise audible at the start and between tracks, but there are no loud pops and certainly no skips or jumps , so it really is a gem if you are after owning this in great condition.
I know the heritage of this record as it has been in the family since new (bought by my elder brother at the time of release) so I know it is the real thing. As you would expect, in the lead off on side one it says "Seez 1 A1" and then "A porky prime cut" and one side two it says Seez 1 B1" and then "The sound is in the music".
Any questions at all, feel free to ask. It will be sent very packed with plenty of stiffeners and be sent by registered post/special delivery/insured only.
