Description

THE BOX TOPS-  The Letter / Neon Rainbow-  original  UK Stateside 1967   SL 10218   MONO-LP

SLEEVE  The sleeve is the UK style single laminated type, made by Garrod & Lofthouse. The sleeve still retains a very good sheen to the laminated front, and the rear of the sleeve is flip back construction.  The rear sleeve is free from blemishes.  NO creasing, NO tears, No writing.  The only blemish to this original 1967 preventing it not getting a higher grade is the fact that there is creasing to the front sleeve, at the left hand edge where the disc enters the sleeve, (such a pity, ) otherwise this lovely mid 60's collectible would almost be perfect.  Due to creasing sleeve VG  maybe VG+

DISC  The Original 1967 Mono  disc is in very nice condition,  and plays superb, the disc label shows the KT tax codes so a genuine mid 60's pressing.  disc is a respectable EX  throughout.

GRADING:
All of our records are graded using the standard UK Record Collector Grading system as follows:

  • MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Un-played should be Mint.
  • EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
  • VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
  • GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
  • FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
  • POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
