Description
Once again I have been plundering my personal collection of original vinyl recordings which were purchased upon release during the 1960s & 1970s. On this occasion I have unearthed a fine MONO version of the BEATLES self penned soundtrack to the ANIMATED MASTERPIECE "YELLOW SUBMARINE". This VINYL 1ST PRESSING was released during 1969 on the APPLE Records label PMC 7070 with the matrixes XEX 715-1 and XEX 716-1.
CONDITION: As those buyers on eBay who have purchased previous examples from my personal collection, will know that they have been very well looked after over the years and have not been played to death, "YELLOW SUBMARINE" is no exception. Played no more than a dozen times at most the vinyl displays a wonderful deep gloss, when examined beneath a strong light there are visible a few superficial surface marks, however these do not create any audible problems, the sound quality on playback is superb. The labels are only effected by a small number of spindle trace lines, otherwise they are in all respects perfect. The original matt black paper inner sleeve is damage free without splits or tears. The Garrod and Lofthouse outer sleeve is in great shape, it has a laminated front and the laminate extends to the three exposed flip backs on the rear. The back of the sleeve shows the two necessary horizontal red lines, above and below the text. The pinched spine is undamaged and all title words are 100% legible. All in all then a very respectable copy of this 46 year young classic album.
I have no hesitation in awarding a very strong EXCELLENT grade to both vinyl and packaging. I use the Record Collectors grading system.
