THE BEATLES-"PLEASE PLEASE ME" PARLOPHONE PCS-3042 STEREO, Released on March 22 1963. The Stereo version was released 6 weeks after the Mono release. I cannot stress just how rare this LP is. The Black & Gold Label in Stereo was only pressed for a few weeks until Parlophone switched to the Black & Yellow label. These very seldom show up for sale on Ebay. I found this copy a few weeks back at an Estate Sale in Gardnerville Nevada. What a great find! I've done alot of research on this LP. Let's get started, The cover is the original Ernest J. Day flipback jacket. Cover has some moisture/mold damage at the bottom causing the bottom seam to split from the open end 5" long. It's more of a seam separation than a split. The other seams are intact and look great. The spine looks wonderful, The print is clear and nicely centered. The front cover is nice and glossy, Still has nice shine to it. Backside looks good above the moisture damage. Overall I'd rate the cover at VG-. NOW, The good part. The record is in beautiful condition. Matrix Numbers: Side One YEX-94-1/G Side Two YEX-95-1/R. Dick James Music credit is listed after these 4 songs: Please Please Me, I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Do You Want To Know A Secret. Under bright light the record still has lot's of gloss and deep shine, Shows light brush marks and some scattered light hairline scratches. Nothing deep. It looks VG++, We played it all the way through tracking at 1 1/2 Grams, No skips, No jumps, No repeats, No loud pops. It Playgrades a strong VG+. At the begining of each side, Just a little crackle. In-between songs Minimal surface noise. Just a beautiful sounding LP. We really got lucky on the quality of the vinyl. The all important Black label with Gold print is VG++, No stickers, No writing. Just a tiny bit of spindle wear. Labels are clear and legible. Come's with the original "Stereophonic" plastic lined inner sleeve. SERIOUS COLLECTORS ONLY!
