Description
Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - Yesterday and Today 12" 1966 ULTRA RARE second state butcher cover LP vinyl' in overall GOOD+ condition!
This is believed to be a second state mono butcher cover from 1966. It hasn't been authenticated as a butcher sleeve and I have never tried to remove the past-over sleeve. It isn't in great condition but here are some reasons as to why I believe it is a second state butcher cover:
• The paste-over cover can been seen covering the catalogue number on the top right of the front of the sleeve. This is usually a tell-tale sign! • The paste-over sleeve looks kinda wonky and doesn't really look like a neat finish - possibly a suggestion of a quick cover-up job by Capitol in 1966. • I think I can see Ringo's black v-neck in the position it is supposed to be in. It's difficult to tell due to the dirt and marks on the cover in that area. I will circle where I think the start of it is in one of the pictures - easier to see in real life.
I am NOT certifying this as a butcher cover so please make up your own minds but most of the evidence is there! Sold as seen. I DO NOT accept returns.

The original inner sleeve has three splits - one to each side. Quite large but it can just about house the record with no issues.
The original mono sleeve is currently rated as GOOD-!! There are a lot of splits to each seam and edge - these have been repaired with tape. There is also a 'cut' to the opening edge. It is about 1" long - PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!! It houses the record well but I keep the record separate from the sleeve just to preserve it. The front of the sleeve does have some pen marks and some age-related marks. The rear of the sleeve has some pen marks to some of the tracks and has some age-related grubiness. The spine has a large split to it but has been repaired with tape. Can't really read much of the writing.
PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!
Catalogue number - T 2553 Number of tracks - 11 Released - 1966
This circle suggests where the v-neck starts...this is where I can just about see it anyway. It is difficult to spot due to the cover being so dirty.
As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record.
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
PLEASE PAY WITHIN 3 DAYS OF THE AUCTION ENDING! If you do not, then I will relist the item.
