WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and hard-to-find original MONO very first second press released in Chile in 1964 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records), an EMI company, catalog number LDC-36465, with machine etched matrix numbers XEX 447-7N  2N (“N” inverted) 18 (small “1”) in Side A and XEX 448-7N 2N (“N” inverted) in Side B, with ORIGINAL MAROON/SILVER ODEON LABELS!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! An authentic very first edition of “With The Beatles” released in Chile!!! You get Odeon Records labels with NO EMI box, “(P) 1965” and “Serie Estelar” written in both labels and back cover. WOW!!! And what a SUPERB condition of both covers and record!!! Yes Sirs, INCREDIBLE FIND!!!

“WITH THE BEATLES” was originally released in 1963 and few months after, in 1964, it was released here in Chile, but like in most of the cases of that period, we got this album with an UNIQUE COVER!!! The cover is non laminated and is the typical Chilean cover made of 2 single sheets of paper attached (not glued) to a thin cardboard kept together for an outer plastic bag. Front cover keeps the original UK artwork, with album title in Spanish only, with Odeon and EMI logos boxed above and below at the left top corner. Back cover is totally different, with title in Spanish only and tracklist in English, translated to Spanish. At the bottom in the right corner is the Odeon logo, “Serie Estelar” logo and catalog number. It’s interesting to see that in back cover the sides are identified as “Faz Uno” (Side 1) and “Faz Dos” (Side 2) but in labels they are informed “A” and “B”.

Yes Sirs, this is really one of those finds you don’t see so often, one of the original copies of this famous album released in Chile in 1964. And see the pictures, WHAT A GREAT CONDITION!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! This is the very first album by The Beatles released in Chile and it has in back cover a long review about the band and the “Beatlemania” in the world. Remember the characteristics you must see to know if it’s the very first cover and the very first record. In the very first cover in front cover at top left corner it’s only the non boxed Odeon logo, and in back cover isn’t written “Serie Estelar”. Labels are maroon/silver with big Odeon logo at top, “(P) 1965” written above the catalog number and “Serie Estelar” below the catalog number at left side of spindle hole. So, here you have the chance to own an authentic very first edition of “With The Beatles” released in Chile. As I already informed this is the SECOND COVER DESIGN with the VERY FIRST LABELS and both cover and record are in GREAT CONDITION!!! YES SIRS, ALMOST NEVER SEEN!!!

An interesting fact to notice and keep in mind is that in Chile it has two print errors: the song “Please Mr. Postman”, correctly written in back cover, it’s misspelled “Please MISTER postman” in label. And in the long review they also misspelled the name of Hong Kong like “Hongkong”. Interesting errors you only find in this Chilean issue!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, complete, no ring marks, no writings, minimal creases and wear at edges and corners, no blemishes, but some light age browning in back cover and signs of humidity at the top edge. The record is thick and it’s in superb EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, glossy and clean with only some light hairlines and scuffs which don’t affect play. Labels are in NM or NM+ condition the Side A, absolutely clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, and in EX or EX+ condition the Side B, clean and clear, with a moderate spindle hole wear. The sound is the best part of this record, it’s in strong NM- or NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), no clicks, no pops, only some really light occasional crackles here and there, hard to hear if you are not looking for them, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the superb audio this record keeps from the beginning to the end. I can say most of the songs play in absolute NM+ condition!!! But I’d recommend a vacuum cleaning anyway. Overall, a nice record with an UNIQUE COVER, with still a very glossy look and a great sound quality after 47 years, a record to see and hear to enjoy from the beginning to the end, no repetitions, no sticks, no jumps, no distortions at all. Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a copy of this RARE record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
