The Sleeve: 

Top loading sleeve in Very Good condition, laminated with shelf wear on spine edge, but there is no splitting to it, and the title and catalogue text is complete and legible. The edges and corners are still well defined and straight, with a little shelf wear. The front and reverse has some line imprints on the lamination.  Inside the gatefold and fold-over's are Very Good Plus, looking glossy and very clean with clear print and unmarked black & white square pictorials of each band member. Some light imprints where records have been inserted, but there are no major marks or blemishes. The BEATLES logo on the front is raised as it was on all first issue sleeves. The number was also punched into the laminate and toned and raised, but this one was punched in and it seems the print machine didn't complete the process, it can be seen as No. 0069636 - a low number.

The sleeve is firm and flat and intact, including the inner partition, separating the parts and keeping all held in well.

No handwriting, no handwriting imprints and no sticker or sticker residue anywhere.

Inner Sleeves:

Very Good Plus condition. The 1st pressings of the White Album came with plain black inner sleeves with the label window on one side only. These inner sleeves rarely survive well and are usually missing or have ripped windows, and a lot of general fraying, the windows on these are not ripped at all. They have some record ring wear and light insertion creases.

Poster:

Excellent Condition. No blemishes, and no tears or rips, and has survived very well.

The Four Portrait Photographs:

Excellent Condition, no corner creases, and hardly ever removed from the sleeve.

The Vinyl:

The vinyl surfaces range are in Very Good Condition overall, some sides appear to be in better condition than others. The surfaces on both of the discs still reflect a glossy sheen with no dulling areas. Turned  towards light there are superficial surface hairline marks and cleaning trails visible over the surface areas on both sides of both discs, and tend to be mainly gathered near the outer rims where they can be seen in normal light, but there are no scuffs or warps on the discs. There are no signs of groove wear on Sides 2, 3, & 4 which are completely smooth with just a couple of light marks. Side 1 has a concentric scratch marks that rings over the first two tracks and is feelable at certain points on the first track. This scratch hasn't gone deep into the grooves so won't cause sticks. The records look to be in a more than fair condition for a first pressing, with evidence of having received an number of plays commensurate with age and popularity, and still look respectable.

The records lay completely flat on the turntable.

Robust Sixties vinyl's weighing at around 160 grams.

Labels:

All text is clear and bold and background colour is all bright. There are some noticeable light spindle line traces but not overly heavy. The perimeter of the spindle location is neat on most of the labels on this copy. All in Very Good Plus Condition, some sides have a slight misalignment from where the label was stamped on in the EMI factory - this is not wear on the spindle point. All sit perfectly on the spindle point on the turntable.

The Audio:

The audio grades at Very Good Plus across the discs overall. Most tracks on both discs play through as Very Good Plus on both sides, with no pops, a little crackle in some places but no background or hiss, and there are no skips/jumps or sticks. There are some mild audible ticks which can be heard on some of the intro lead-in's and a few of the song tracks grading at around Very Good only, but most songs are clear of any noises. Side 1 will have ticks and skipping on Back In The USSR for the first 30 seconds as the needle passes over the concentric mark, but shouldn't overcome the audio after that.

On the majority the records play quite nicely without any obtrusive detractions, offering a crisp and strong original mono bass rendition of which many critics regard as The Beatles finest masterpiece.

The vinyl sides 1, 2, 3 are all from the first mono master recording. Side 4 is apparently cut from the second mono master which is hardly ever seen! It is generally accepted that a 2nd Mono master never went to press. The mother, stampers and master matrix codes are also printed in the wrong positions in the run-out on Side 4.

The mother stamps are quite low for the first pressing considering some of these mono's went into double digits due to quantities pressed. The labels are the 1st variation without the 'An EMI Recording' text - this was added to the label from late November 1968. Only the 1st variation type omitted that text and it is rarely found omitted on both labels.

The Apples whites on the labels are the DARKER type. These factors indicate that this is undoubtably a 1st MONO Pressed in November of 1968 and how The Beatles 'White Album' appeared when it first hit the stores.

This LP will be securely delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners. 

New plain black generic poly-lined inner sleeves will house the records as shown, and the originals will be placed separately.

A new protective PVC 180 gsm gatefold sleeve is included as shown to house the LP.

This White Album will be delivered by special delivery in the UK.

Overseas postage will be tracked & insured and a tracking number given.
