Description

This is a rare original 3 & 3/4 ips twin track mono reel-to-reel tape from 1968 (DTA-PMC 7067/8) The Beatles ‘Double Album’, a.k.a. the ‘White Album’ - The Beatles’ tenth album release.  I have checked it on a reel-to-reel player and it plays as new - no deterioration or faults on either side.  There are no snaps, repairs or stretches on the tape which is on the original 5 inch EMITAPE reel.  The reel is in excellent condition, so well looked after it still has the original EMITAPE sticker on the centre of both sides and the white adhesive strip which originally secured the leader tape to the reel.  These can all be seen in the photo.  The original leader tape at both ends is clean, intact and full length.

The tape is in the original plastic box which is in excellent condition with only very minor scuff marks.  There are no splits, cracks or scratches on the box and it contains the original packing slip which tells the bearer 'In case of complaint this slip must be returned with the tape record'.  I suspect that may be out of warranty after 40 years but it's a nice addition.  I sell a lot of Beatles tapes, but only rarely come across the White Album - particularly in this condition.  Without a doubt, this is the best example of this rare tape that I have had through my hands.

In case you can't remember, the tracks on this album are:

SIDE ONE: Back In The USSR; Dear Prudence; Glass Onion; Ob-La-Di; Wild Honey Pie; The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill; While My Guitar Gently Weeps; Happiness Is a Warm Gun; Martha My Dear; I'm So Tired; Blackbird; ‘Piggiest’ (misprint - should be ‘Piggies’); Rocky Raccoon; Don't Pass Me By; Why Don't We Do It in the Road?; I Will; and Julia.

SIDE TWO: Birthday; Yer Blues; Mother Nature's Son; Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey; Sexy Sadie; Helter Skelter; Long, Long, Long; Revolution 1; Honey Pie; Savoy Truffle; Cry Baby Cry; Revolution 9; and Good Night.

A previous White Album I sold went for £203 so the opening price for this tape is a BARGAIN if it stays at that. I put Beatles reel-to-reel tapes on eBay whenever I can get hold of them. If you are a fan or a collector, it might be worth your while checking out my feedback and adding me to your favourites.
