This is an extremely rare Beatles vinyl LP titled "Something New" on the Parlophone/EMI label catalog number CPCS 101, a first pressing Stereo from 1964. This record has the label error “Sold In UK subject to retail price conditions, SEE PRICE LISTS” above the spin-hole on both sides and Tax Code “KT” by the spin-hole on side 2 (see pictures). The first copies of “Something New” had those errors. How many of these copies were made is not known. The error was corrected very quickly.

Parlophone/EMI records of this period were pressed on extra thick vinyl. I purchased the record new in Germany in 1965 while on active duty with the US Army. It has been played exclusively on high end turntables and has only minor scuffs on the surface. This record does make typical sounds heard on older vinyl records such as light surface noise but it is heard mostly between songs and there are no skips. This remains a great sounding record at high volume.

There is a barely visible written name on the side 1 label compliments of my German girl friend at the time (see pictures). The writing is actually more visible in the picture than it is in person since it is dark blue ink on a black label. Otherwise the label is in excellent condition on both sides.

The outer jacket front is very good with some wear at the opening and some corner wear. The jacket rear is rough in two areas where the surface was scuffed while removing more of the girl friend’s writing handiwork (see pictures) but there are no seam splits or tears on this jacket.

The original tracing-paper-lined die-cut inner sleeve with cleaning tips from Emitex has age related creasing from storage but is in otherwise perfect condition.

This is a nice record very suitable for framing.

I will pack the record outside of the jacket to protect jacket integrity and ship in a sturdy LP mailer with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap for further protection.
