Description
Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - Rubber Soul 12" 1969 ULTRA RARE STEREO TRANSITIONAL CROSSOVER original Parlophone LP vinyl press' in overall EXCELLENT condition.
This particular copy of Rubber Soul is ULTRA RARE because on Side 1 it features the 1969 'No Sold in UK Label' and on Side 2 it features the common 'Sold In UK Label'!! I have NEVER seen one of these for sale! I have seen other albums such as AHDN or SGT PEPPER but NEVER RUBBER SOUL! It is a transitional copy from 1968/1969.
VINYL:-
Visual:
- Side 1 - hairlines and sleeve removal trails, nothing serious, deep or feelable. Rated as EXCELLENT-/EXCELLENT. RARE LABEL IS EXCELLENT! Light spindlwear.
- Side 2 - looks like it has a few more hairlines than Side 1. Nothing major, deep or feelable though. Rated as VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT-.
Audio:
- In my eyes, the audio is EXCELLENT+/NEAR MINT-(just)! I have play tested it all the way through and can confirm that there are NO SKIPS, NO JUMPS and NO STICKS on my system! Very slight background crackle is present but barely audible! Can only really be heard on the run-ins and in between tracks. Also, a couple of repetitive light ticks are present early on on Side 2 but never interfere with play or cause it so skip or jump. Even on 'Michelle', the crackle is very minimal! Present, but hardly noticeable with a VERY CLEAN vocal! The clarity is amazing! So punchy, crisp and LOUD! The -3 -3 stereo mix is an absolutely superb mix and this is a great sounding example of this - probably one of the best I have EVER heard! Lies flat and plays very well!
The inner sleeve is a plain white sleeve...not sure if it's original or not. I will supply a brand new black inner sleeve IF you request it upon purchase.
The original flipback stereo sleeve is 100% intact and houses the record very well. I rate it as VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT-. The front of the sleeve has some edgewear and several light creases. Also, the opening edge is peeling and rubbing very slightly - please see pictures below! Nothing too serious. On the top spine there is a scuff but not a split. Rear of sleeve has the name Robinson on the top flipback but it is very faint but still slightly visible. Also, the track durations are written next to the first 7 tracks but no ink is present - just slightly imprinted. Some slight wear to the flipbacks and light opening edgewear. Spine is 100% readable but has been slightly pinched.
Overall, a very very RARE record that NEVER shows up! If you have a better sleeve then you have one heck of a quality rare record on your hands!!
