PARLOPHONE - PMC 1267 - 1965 - UK MONO

Original 1965 UK press on the yellow/black Parlophone label with 'The Gramophone..' rim text and 'Sold in UK' on label.
The 1st UK press of Rubber Soul had 1/1 matrix endings but had an incorrect 'loud cut' mix of the album. This was quickly withdrawn and replaced with a remastered pressing with the commonly seen 4/4 matrix.
This therefore is a rare transitional pressing that was rushed out to cope with demand, but at the same time try and correct the production error. It has 4/1 matrix endings indicating that Side 1 has been remastered but Side 2 still has the incorrectly mastered 'loud cut'.

CONDITION (vinyl/cover)
EX- (very nice shiny copy with light use only; in strong angled light the labels are bright and clean and show only small signs of play, and the disc surface shows just some slight sleeve removal marks, although there is an inconspicuous semi-circular groove scratch in track 6 side 2; I played the record in full and can confirm it plays great throughout with generally strong clear audio and no major or regular surface noise; side 1 plays EX, side 2 has a few moments when the 'loud cut' creates a touch of expected distortion and there is a momentary crunch noise from the light semi-circular scratch in 'If I Needed Someone', but otherwise this is a great sounding copy!)
/ EX+ (laminated flipback sleeve by Garrod & Lofthouse; a superb near perfect example with slight storage wear only - the front laminate is bright glossy & uncreased, all edges are sharp & unworn and the rear has bright unworn imagery and tight flipbacks - see photos)
