"Revolver" was issued in the UK on the 13th August 1966, in both Mono and Stereo. As a No.1 LP that spent 34 weeks in the charts, an incredible amount was sold, of those the vast majority was in mono. 1966 in the UK, mono reigned supreme, stereo was very much a format for a small minority, and would remain so for another 3 years. This meant stereo albums sold in such small numbers , original pressings are very rare.

The labels are in pristine condition, the spindle areas unworn, showing the record has only been played a couple of times! There's the "Sold In The UK" text &"Gramophone" on the rims."K T" is embossed on Side 2's centre; the stamping numbers are those of a 1st pressing. The print size on the label is in the small lettering of a 1966 original, most noticeable on the "Stereo" lettering.

The record has the gleaming sheen of mint vinyl, with nothing to call a mark, just a few feather light surface playing signs. The sound quality is absolute
perfection on every track; the audio clarity is simply staggering!
This beautiful condition record was pressed to EMI's very high standards, playing without virtually any form of surface / needle sound during the music or from the linking grooves. The 1966 stereo mix is amazing! The full blooded power and the volume exactly match the mono LP. Psychedelic music evolved in 1966,"Revolver" was instrumental in this by introduced 'new' innovative sound textures, deliberately recorded to affect the listener's senses. The main innovation was the bass had a very ‘heavy’, louder sound, which is very
apparent on both the stereo and mono mixes. George Martin recorded in stereo from 1963 , mono was a mix down from the original stereo recordings.
He made both a true stereo and mono mix at the time of the recording sessions.

Like the record the cover has been perfectly stored, a superb looking cover!
Printed on the front cover's top right corner is "Stereo", only found on original covers. There are 1969 / ' 70 flip back covers, but these do not have "Stereo” printed there. The front's laminate has its original, mirror like glossy shine. The white background is still dazzlingly bright, with only a slight hint of ageing towards the outside edges. The heavyweight record's shape has left only a mild impression, with a few very minor laminate crinkles, common to records that have remained in a cover untouched for so many years. The spine is in near perfect condition, with the central title unworn and still under the protection of the very thick, unscuffed laminate. A frequently removed,
played and replaced record's edge wears against this contact point. The spine is in it's original shape , the top and bottom edges in a pinched / pleated style with the rest flat .All the edges are in near perfect condition, including both sides of the opening edges. All four corners are square shaped with only the very lightest wear. The back panel is in stunning condition, without any wear from the record's shape, also known as "ring wear". The white lettering is still an unyellowed , pure white, making a superb contrast to the unfaded , jet black background colour. The flipback edges are perfectly and neatly stuck down and in very sound, strong condition.
The original 1966 "Use Emitex" inner sleeve is in superb Near Mint condition.
