THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'
This wonderful sounding Japanese 1st stereo pressing dates from October 1966 release.
It is pressed on high-quality 'Everclean' red vinyl on the correct black & silver Odeon label: OP-7600
Matrices: YEX 605 7 & YEX 606 7Vinyl weight: 141g
Housed in a heavy card, 'Made In Japan' stereo cover with 'H ¥1,750' price code & 'PAT.P' embossed on the rear panel.
Also present is the original blue & white 'V' shaped OBI strip printed with the '¥1,750' price.
Complete with bi-fold lyric sheet & its original advertising inner with fold-over flap.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT +
Both are clean & undamaged showing a small collection of well aimed spindle trails, mostly on label 2.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean, beautifully coloured playing surfaces which reveal some harmless wispy paper/inner-sleeve removal marks beneath halogen light, but no scratches or any other significant blemishes.
Audio: EXCELLENT +
A really impressive sounding pressing on super-quiet vinyl with clean & clear sound - much more so than the UK pressing. Our careful play-check at volume found no traces of any groove/playwear or any clicks, pops or other such distractions. You won't be disappointed with the audio on this copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A very respectable, strong & fully intact example from very heavy card stock which has survived the years in great shape. Both front & rear panels are glossy with just a light crease on John's face and little age-related marking to the front opening edge. There is minor shelfwear bruising to the lower corners but the upper two are nice and sharp. Both seams and the spine are smooth / unstressed and the all-important fragile OBI is intact and undamaged.
Uncreased with slight toning and a few age-related spots on the back page.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +
Some light creasing, mostly to the top-opening flap, but no tears or seam splits.
