Description
This is The Beatles Hey Jude lp with the large hype sticker. This lp has been sealed since new, but it does have a couple of breaks in the shrink wrap--one along the bottom edge that is 2" long, and also includes a crack in the cardboard and a small shrink tear to went into the back of the lp, and one break in the shrink along the right "opening" edge that is about 5" long (see close-ups of all). The price reflects these detractors, although you cannot see any of it from straight on when displayed.
The vinyl is presumed MINT, and is the original 1st pressing with THE BEATLES AGAIN on the labels, with Hey Jude on the spine, Bell Sound in the deadwax, and SO prefix. This is known because the cover has the original toning on the photo-before the blue jeans were lightened to add more separation among the boys-supposedly at Paul's request.
The cover is NEAR MINT/SEALED. The rare sticker is affixed on top shrink wrap. The shrink wrap has breathe holes (see close ups).
The sticker is in excellent condition with a slight amount of toning....see photos. All four corners are nice. The shrink is VERY tight both front and back. A fantastic investment lp.
I was lucky enough to purchase several of these, both sealed and opened several years ago from a former Capitol employee as part of his very large collection.
For the past several years I have been slowly selling off these lps, and there are not a lot left. Of the sealed examples on the market, I dare say that most of them came from this incredible collection-some were even time/date stamped with the day before release in 1970. Don't pay $2000+...get one of these from the source while you still can.
For those on a budget, I have a couple of other examples that were open and I should be listing them in the next day or two.
