THE BEATLES "THE BEATLES' CHRISTMAS ALBUM" SBC-100
In December 1970, in the wake of the band's break-up, the UK fan-club sent out a compilation LP of all seven recordings, entitled "From Then To You". The master tapes having been mislaid, the LP was mastered from copies of the original flexi discs. In the US, the LP was repackaged as "The Beatles' Christmas Album". Album was released 12.01.1970 and sent out by the fan-club around springtime 1971. With no new recording, the LP served to remind that the Beatles were no more, but had the advantage of durability over the original flexi discs, and, for the US, it was the first time the 1964 and 1965 messages had been made available.
This original authentic cover has sharp images. In the lower left photo of Ringo, both of his eyeballs are clearly visible. Clearly read "Theatre Royal" overheads of Paul and John on the bottom second photo demonstrating the authenticity of the album. Cover read “Not For Sale”.
Accompanying this album are copy of letter of Authenticity from Perry Cox (see photo), author of "The Official Price Guide to the Beatles Records and Memorabilia", date 02.11.2006.
Conditions:Still Sealed. Two factory shrink “breath holes” evident on front cover. Tight seal corner to corner. 3” piece of shrink missing on back cover bottom edge. Bottom left corner has small push. Due to such a tight seal, tips on all corners have minor wear. Colors and images are vibrant and bright.
