Description
THE BEATLES ABBEY ROAD LP VINYL 1969 UK 1ST PRESS PCS7088 ALIGNED APPLE VG/VG
Original 1st UK pressing of the classic “Abbey Road” LP by the Beatles
Matrix numbers / Mothers / Stampers are:
Side 1 - YEX 749-2 3 OAL
Side 2 - YEX 750-1 2 MGL
No “Her Majesty” on labels.
The vinyl grades as G only. It has lots of light scuffs, marks and scratches. It’s been fully play tested and plays predominantly much better than it looks with light background crackle evident in the spaces between tracks and the quieter sections. I still found it an enjoyable listen and mostly the record plays with reasonably clear audio. The crackle certainly doesn’t overpower the music. There was one small skip (next groove) near the end of “Something” and another on the very start of “Here Comes The Sun” there are no other skips, sticks, clicks or pops. Technically it grades as Fair due to the skips, however it is genuinely much much better than that and plays for 95% of the album at the VG grade. G overall
The sleeve is G too. It has a small rip/piece missing from the opening edge (see photos) but no other issues.
The inner is EX without any issues, tears, etc. It has the “patent No 1,125,555” plain white inner. I will include a brand new poly lined inner to help keep the LP free from any further removal scuffs.
Overall this is still a reasonable playing 1st UK press and still an enjoyable listen, it’s not perfect but certainly not bad either really.
