Description

TAS list EMI SLS 897 Shostakovich Leningrad ASD 3021-2

Box condition Near Mint minus, 2LP's NEAR MINT minus.

RARE TAS Listed Audiophile recording. (TAS = The Absolute Sound Magazine, list of recordings most desireable as deemed by internal audio reviewers including Harry Pearson, who also has his own list)

ALL 4 sides wet washed, treated with LAST preservative and FULLY TEST PLAYED, all 4 sides REPRODUCE NEAR MINT SOUND QUALITY.  I can't even see paper scuffs in bright light on these ones!!!!  No repetitive tics or other damage related noise, only the very occasional normal vinyl related reproduction tic, and not repetetive, and very very infrequently.

This will make a great purchase for someone wanting a copy of theses rare Shostakovich recordings, conducted by Paavo Berglund played by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Extremely rare UK 1974 edition on 2 LP's HMV box set SLS 897 (records also numbered as ASD 3021-22) First Label, Black and white Band ).

For regular readers of my listings, this set is only the second one I have seen in ausralia, and I have seen a lot of records....

RECORDING - Shostakovich Leningrad Symphony conducted by Paavo Berglund, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. recorded Jan 1974 in Guildhall Southhampton UK producer David Mottley, Balance Engineer Stuart Eltham.
