Description
The Knights "Hot Rod High"
This is a US vinyl pressing on Capitol T 2189 from 1964. This was their only album. This is the Mono pressing. The labels are black with rainbow colorband. The girls on the front cover have big letters on the sweaters that spell out "HOT ROD". This album is very hard to find !!
The matrix numbers are hand etched : Side 1 : T-1-2189-H-3 and Side 2 : T-2-2189-H-3.
This album was produced by Jim Economides. The band and the vocalists are not identified on the back cover. "The Knights" were probably a studio band organized by Jim Economides. They play great hot rod and surf Rock N Roll and a couple instrumentals. The songs were written by Brian Wilson, Gary Usher, Roger Christian, Jim Economides, Terry Melcher, and Bobby Darin. Other bands associated with these names include : The Beach Boys, The Super Stocks, The Kickstands, The Hondells, The Sunsets, The Four Speeds, The Honeys, The Competitors, The Devons, The Ghouls, and The Revells. The cover photo is by George Jerman.
The songs are : Hot Rod High, Midnight Auto, Lonely Little Stocker, School Days, Three Wheeler, Be True To Your School, Hot Rod U.S.A., I Get Around, Ditch Day, Rock Around The Clock, Theme For Teen Love, and Skippin' School.
Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ / Record is M-
The cover is VG+ with no writing and no seam splits. There is a light scuff on the front at middle left and a little blue partial ring wear on the back at top center. The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint, with very light handling marks. The labels are clean with no spindle marks. The record comes in a Capitol Records inner sleeve.

I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby. And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. On Discogs I am 'Fragilerecords'. My records are from a no smoking and no pets home. I am a record collector, not a DJ, so I almost never play my records.
Packaging :
I take great care on every package and I do each one personally. I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard. Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard. Together they are very strong and unbendable. I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve. The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides. If the winner is in the USA, I will pay for insurance and signature security.
Postage : Weight : 1 pound 8 ounces
You have to pay for the postage. I pre-weigh every package, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges. There are NO handling charges. This record will weigh 23 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can choose between Media mail or Priority mail.
