Overall Sound Quality - Side 1 & 2: Good+ to Very Good Minus
A hard to find copy of T. Rex's classic 1971 album complete with the original illustrated inner sleeve, poster and front cover poster sticker.
Bought new in 1971. Not sure of the exact pressing, hopefully the run-out matrices shown above will help - there's also a lightly stamped "HU"(?) and a "2" on the Side 1 run-out and a "1", "H"(?) and "A" on the Side 2 run-out. For track listings please see our label photographs below.
Telegram Sam Single: Also includes a copy of "Telegram Sam" bought in 1972 - the first single released on T. Rex's own label. Original paper sleeve rather worn with some short paper splits; vinyl condition Side A - Good to Good Minus (a couple moderate scratches / marks but sound quality not significantly affected); Side B - Very Good with just a couple light marks; my initials on Side A, overall sound quality Good+ to Very Good minus with some light crackles.
The album and single have been recently re-played with the sound quality as noted below - our gradings are taken from those used by the Record Collector Rare Records Price Guide.

Condition Details
Album Cover Condition - Good: Significant shelf rubbing / abrasion to the bottom edge but no edge splits, some light soiling (mostly to the back cover), moderate shelf-wear with light scratching to the bottom of the front cover, my initials written on the plain inside near to the opening. Inner Sleeve Condition - Good+: Original illustrated inner sleeve, significant general creasing with light general toning and light to moderate finger marking to the edges, a couple tiny paper edge nicks and short seam splits but complete and in a very acceptable condition for such a well used fragile item. Poster Condition - Very Good Minus: Light toning and a couple spots of light soiling but overall in a near-Very Good condition with only very light wear (unfortunately it made some appearances on my walls so there are drawing pin holes with small amounts of associated rust marking to the corners plus two further small holes at the mid-point of the long edges). Vinyl Appearance - Side 1 - Good+; Side 2 - Very Good Minus: Very clean, some light surface marks and mostly short light scratches but a lengthy horizontal scratch to "Cosmic Dancer" on Side 1 (the marks / scratches don't seem to have much of an impact on the overall sound quality - please see the next paragraph for details of any audible defects). Light to moderate spindle marks and my initials to the Side 1 label. Sound Quality / Any Further Comments: Grading for each side as noted above. Some light crackles and pops consistent with a well played record of this age but overall both the album and single are mostly very clear with no skips when played on our equipment.Total weight with cardboard packaging 475g. Our asking price includes UK post and packing - international delivery charges have been reduced by the same amount to avoid double charging. UK orders weighing less than 1.0Kg will be despatched by First Class Post, orders weighing 1.0Kg and above will be despatched by Royal Mail parcels.
