Description
This is the Rolls Royce of short-base wooden field cameras and is in immaculate condition. Made from ebony wood and titanium it is specifically designed for Landscape and Architectural photographers who use very wide-angle lenses and need a super-strong, compact/portable camera with only front standard movements. The rear standard is fixed except for vertical movement; this is to aid with rigidity, accuracy and speed of setup when using wide-angle lenses, where alignment is particularly critical. Strong detents on the front standard ensure that it snaps back into perfect position, parallel with the rear standard - hence the reason why spirit levels are only needed for the rear standard. It will take lenses from 47mm - 180mm on flat panels, and a Schneider 38mm XL with a recessed panel. A rear extender will allow a 210mm lens to be used but is not included in this sale. The soft leather bellows will spring back into shape even after extreme swings and shifts of the front standard which takes the standard Linhof/Wista lens panels. It has an international-fit back that will take roll-film holders as well as the usual 4x5 sheet film holders. The back with it's super-bright Fresnel focusing screen, is specially designed for wide angle lenses, and also rotates to portrait mode. The rack and pinion focusing is reassuringly, slightly stiff to eliminate wobble. Slight marks visible on the front and rear dust caps.
