Description

Up for your consideration is very rare copy on 'My Generation' by The Who on Decca (Brunswick) Records 1966 - TURKISH PRESSING!
Apparently the only vinyl record by The Who ever pressed in Turkey.
Condition Sleeve: G+/VG- Very hard to give a professional grading, but for it's age it's still in fairly decent shape. There is some ringwear, edgewear and some seam splitting in places.  Also the original owner wrote their name on the back cover (currently blurred out) and they also drew some strange 'mod' bracket-motif around the name of the band and the album title on the back. There is also a small semi-closed tear on the back cover.
Vinyl: G+/VG- Again, hard to grade, but despite a lot of surface wear the record plays through on both sides without skipping or jumping and sounds remarkably good. There's some crackling in places which may be down to bad manufacturing standards, and there is a dull 'fump' sound, for about 30 secs, at the start of both sides which looks to be the cause of bad pressing technique or machinery.
The manufacturing quality throughout this issue is definitely inferior to usual standards for releases, even around the time of manufacture, which may be why there has never been a repeat visit to the Istanbul factories on subsequent Who albums.
Overall though, despite it's somewhat rough appearance this is still a very listenable (and highly enjoyable) example of a rare version of 'My Generation' that is now over 50 years old!

Please note, I'm not a professional record dealer so kindly take that into account while reading my description and when deciding to place a bid. Based on my personal knowledge and dealings with people who are professional record dealers, I feel that my description is fair and accurate, but if you are exceptionally fastidious and/or are looking for museum quality items then best not to bid on this listing. That said, I have sold numerous records on US and UK Ebay and have always had very happy customers, so do please bid with confidence.
