Description

An original 1st press of BOOK on UK Tamla. Matrix A1/B1. For 1st pressing the labels MUST exhibit 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. Worth going for these copies as they were pressed heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with the left side sealed - which forms a nice solid opening panel. Also included is an EMI inner from the seventies.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. There are a couple of light marks per side - one does just about sound [see detail].  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. If you're a big fan of this title - you need to hear it on a decent 1st pressing. What could better listening to 'Superstition' on a super pressing. Otherwise how are you going to really get into Jeff Beck's intricate guitar work! Audio quality is excellent as delivered by EMI. Very little background observable. The only issue I picked out is caused by a tiny mark at the outset of Tuesday. Expect 5-6 ticks. It cleans out as the vocal comes in [it's by no means a deal breaker]. Sweet! 
Cover (Vg+) A nice clean front with a little surface wear at the foot. A bit observable top and bottom on the rear. The interior looks superb no issues. Some very slight edge wear. The spine looks real good with just light wear in the odd spot and some light fade. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Very little ageing. No splits.
