Steely Dan AJA - Cisco Music ALL ANALOGUE 180 gram Vinyl LP Edition - Sealed and LONG out print! This is #2039. Is this THE version to have? Well, according to legendary audiophile writer Michael Fremer (check him out on Analogplanet.com and/or Stereophile Magazine), in his online review dated 10/1/2007 -- in which he gave this reissue a 10/10 for music and sound -- he said:
"Let’s get right to the point of this reissue, which is the sound, since anyone shelling out big bucks for it is doing so because he or she is familiar with the music and loves it to death.
This new Cisco reissue is vastly superior to both the original pressing (ABC AA 1006) and to Mobile Fidelity’s ½ speed mastered reissue (Mobile Fidelity MFSL 1-0333).
If your stereo system (or your personal savior/used record dealer) tells you otherwise, blame it and/or him, not Elliot Scheiner, one of the original engineers on Aja who oversaw this reissue, or Donald Fagen (no introduction necessary), or Kevin Gray and Robert Pincus who mastered it from the original analog tape at AcousTech."
Condition: The LP is flawless except for a tiny bump in the lower right front corner (please see Picture 4). Owing to the jet black cover it is hard to capture in the picture (it looks better in hand than in the photo). The rear of the gatefold sleeve is immaculate, with four sharp corners.
AND PLEASE NOTE: This edition, like other Cisco Music reissues, is sealed in a heavy fold over/flap outer wrap, with a gold "Cisco Music" foil seal. The LP is sealed and has never been opened and once you break the seal it is OBVIOUS that the seal has been broken. If you have any doubts that this is a sealed/new copy, PLEASE do not bid on this.
