Stereo/Mono ? US Original Pressing on the obscure label
Tiara featuring early Meg Miles sides she'd originally recorded
for Sunset in 1954-'55 when she had just begun gaining
recognition as a pin-up model and actress and this LP rarely
turns up & this copy is in fantastic sounding condition

~ condition ~


record is in Near Mint - Condition and has been
fully play tested and it sounds fantastic and plays with
no skips, repeats or bad noise & has shiny clean vinyl with
just the slightest bit of wear (these '50s budget pressed albums
were sometimes pressed on slightly inferior vinyl which makes
the vinyl appear imperfect, but is in fact in nice shape) & has
bright clean wear-free labels with no writing or markings

cover is in Very Good + Condition with bold bright
printing and has intact seams & no writing or markings
but does have a little wear to the corners & edges and the
top & bottom seams do have neat repairs that were done
from the inside and are only seen upon close inspection and
there's a spot at the lower-front-right-hand-corner where there
is something on the cover & there is also light spotting in places
to the plain background in addition to a spot on the front
where a price sticker was once removed (subtle)

displays well & plays nicely

~ Meg Myles ~


Meg Myles is best-known as one of the more adored
pin-up models of the 1950s - early '60s & she was also a
serious stage actress with some notable film credits in addition
to being a good enough singer to enjoy recording contracts
with three major labels during the '50s-early-'60s

Myles was born in Seattle, Washington and it was her
extraordinary physique led to TV appearances with Bob Hope
among other stars, which led to bigger & better things like her
frequent appearances in Men's Magazines of the era & her 1954
feature in Dragnet where she did a cameo as a Cuban singer
and then a larger appearance in the 1955 Phil Karlson film The
Phenix City Story in which she sang the title song. She also made
records for the Sunset label in 1954-'55 & her "Phenix City Blues"
became a succesful Capitol Records single who signed Myles to
a contract & while her records never sold well, they helped prove
that her talent ran deeper than her measurements (she was often
compared to Jayne Mansfield) & she signed with Liberty Records
in 1957 when she also appeared in the movie Calypso Heat Wave
(along with Joel Grey, the Treniers, the Tarriers, the Hi-Lo's and
Maya Angelou) in a straight acting role & she became a regular
featured singer on Steve Allen's television series which led to the
release of her first LP 'Meg and Me' accompanied by Jimmy Rowles
and Tiara Records also released a budget-priced LP of her rare
early Sunset sides in 1958 entitled Passion in Paris. In 1961 she
appeared in the movie Satan in High Heels in which she sang
"You Walked Out of My Life" & by this time she was performing
regularly at some of New York's best clubs often accompanied by
an early incarnation of the Ramsey Lewis Trio and she recorded
Meg Myles at the Living Room for Mercury Records with producer
Quincy Jones. Alas, this was to be the end of her recording career
however - as the '60s wore on, her brand of music became less
potentially commercial, and by the middle of the decade, she was
largely working as an actress on-stage and onscreen, performing
at the New York Shakespeare Festival and in numerous successful
movies, including Coogen's Bluff and The Anderson Tapes and
she did re-emerge as a singer briefly in the early '90s in an
AIDS benefit performance doing music by Harold Arlen

~ Our Record Condition Guide ~


since everyone has their own ideas about grading the condition
of records, we've decided to spell out how we do it. our descriptions are
also extremely thorough & individually note flaws that a generic condition grade
cannot. we also occasionally assign a + and - for in-between grades

Mint

perfect, never played & usually still factory sealed

Near Mint

nearly perfect with almost no signs of handling

Excellent

the slightest visual wear that in no way interferes with the sound

 Very Good +

light visible signs of handling & wear but well taken care of
and plays with only mellow occasional crackle and/or soft pops but 
nothing interfering with enjoying the record/artwork

Very Good

obviously used & handled, but not mishandled, with no skips,
repeats or bad noise, but with noticeable crackle, pops & soft tics or
artwork defects, but nothing too bad overall

 Very Good -

considerable visible wear & background noise with possible
skips, repeats, tics and cover flaws, but still enjoyable & would
be obviously well-used and somewhat mishandled

So-So

anything below VG- which we rarely sell, except
for really rare records that are worth listing only because
they're so hard to find & sought-after in any condition

Disclaimer

not everyone's turntable sounds & functions the same 
but we have a nice sensitive set-up that makes flaws very obvious to us
and we try to note everything we ear and see. while vinyl is an awesome sounding format,
there is almost always some sort of background noise while listening to a record.
we are just about as picky as anyone, so trust us
but be sure to read our descriptions carefully!
