  • Sonny Rollins  ' Way out West '  CONTEMPORARY C 3530 (USA) mono yellow label with deep groove - rec. in Los Angeles on March 7, 1957 - original 1957 first issue
 
  • Sonny Rollins : tenor sax - Ray Brown : bass - Shelly Manne : drums
  Side 1 :  I'm an old cowhand (Mercer) - Solitude (Ellington) - Come, gone (Rollins) Side 2 :  Wagon wheels (DeRose-Hill) - There is no greater love (I.Jones-M.Symes) - Way out West (Rollins) 
Visual grading : record is VG+ has full lustre and has light wear. Has few very light unfeelable paper's scuffs barely visible on side 1. Has a light unfeelable surface mark which does not affect the play on the last two tracks side 2. Clean labels with some light spindle wear Playing grading : record is VG+ plays well with loud and clear sound. Has some light occasional background noise on quieter parts (i.e. bass solos) and between the tracks. Has five repeated ticks on last track side 1 and has about fifteen repeated light ticks at the begin of side 2 Cover grading : cover is Good- to Good has wear to corners, edges and more evident to spine which has many pieces of paper missing and has been re-glued. Front cover has ringwear close to top edge. Back cover has age yellowing and some light stains around the edges. Both front and back cover have on top a couple of stamps 'Sample record' and 'Not for sale'.
