Yup- Here is another Smashing Pumpkins item I acquired some time back. Mega collectable here for the Smashing pumpkins fan - this item is definitely up there at the top with a few others as the most wanted/most rare/most valuable Smashing Pumpkins vinyl releases.
Here we have a copy of the 1993 1st pressing of “Siamese Dream” from the Smashing Pumpkins. A fan or collector’s dream. Personally , this is my favorite of all Sashing Pumpkins albums — this was probably their highest point as a band in all. This is not a later year re-print or a re-mastering release. The jacket is largly different in regard to the jacket art and color scheme that is currently being used on the recent reprinting. They vary quite largely from the current market’ s re-issue being sold-most note ably in the extreme contrasting color schemes. It is not something that isn’t noticed very immediately when comparing. I’m not a fan of how the cover looks on the newer copies of this album. This jacket has aged very well, and look really good. Upon a visual inspection with a few minor scuffs of age/signs can faintly be seen. The vinyl looks equally well. The vinyl’s color is a marbled kind of pink-oranage that seemed to look a bit different in each picture—due to the lighting. This version is extremely sought after and really hard to find— let alone under two hundred bucks. And there are a few for sale right now between $175-$200+ This is a pretty well sought after record to begin with. Maybe more so now, as to the original album jacket is now a must have thing for fans/collector’s/ and vinyl music purists. I would imagine to find one Orange colored one starting this low would be next to impossible to find.
