Description

This is my original copy of the early stereo pressing in the dark pink label. 1968 was a year of change for Immediate. They were moving from the Lilac to the more familiar Pink label just as this album was being pressed. Very few actually made it out of the factory with the Lilac label. Both Mono and Stereo exist but most that you will find listed as a “First” will have a Pink label, not a Lilac one. There is absolutely no difference to the vinyl, the matrices, just the label colour.
The dark pink labels were released in a circular sleeve that folds open into five panels. Runouts are stamped and UK Patent and Design Application Numbers are on the back cover. The labels are totally unmarked and there is very little spindle wear.
Matrix/Runout (Side One) IMSP 012-1Y
Matrix/Runout (Side Two) IMSP 012-2Y
As always I have play graded the album and can confirm there are no pops, clicks or scratches and minimal surface noise between tracks. The dynamic sound shines through and I am happy to classify the album as at least EX. Early pressings have labels as follows: Side One entitled “Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake - Small Faces” and Side Two entitled “Happiness Stan - Small Faces”.
For the benefit of buyer and seller I will provide as much information as possible. The front and back cover are unblemished with no signs of wear after being looked after for the last fifty seven years. There are no breaks or tears and the delicate five panels are fully intact. Overall the cover is in superb condition. The original polythene inner sleeve is still included and I have separated the album using a modern, protective sleeve.
This is a great opportunity to own a very rare early stereo pressing of this psychedelic classic in such great condition. It is not easy to find the delicate five panel cover without any damage but the original inner polythene sleeve does not usually survive intact. Thank you for looking. Packaging will be first class to ensure a safe and secure delivery.
