Description
Released in 1964, Simon and Garfunkel's debut Lp 'Wednesday Morning, 3 AM' did not fare so well; but the seeds of greatness were contained within this record. A disc jockey in Boston, MA; began playing 'Sounds of Silence' from this Lp. This excited enough interest for producer Tom Wilson, who had worked on the original acoustic recordings, to add an electric backing to the track (without Simon and Garfunkel's knowledge) and it became a US number #1 hit and as they say, the rest is history. The copy I am offering is the VERY 1st Orange CBS label UK Stereo version pressed on heavy vinyl and mistakenly prints 'Sound of Silence' instead of 'Sounds of Silence' on the 1st side label. The quality of the audio as can be expected, is absolutely fantastic. I doubt a cleaner copy of this pressing (if you can find one!) is out there.
Condition of Lp Jacket: Near Mint...the only issue being the spine which, because it is so thin, some of the writing has rubbed away with time.
Condition of Record: Near Mint...perfect labels...truly in remarkable shape after nearly 50 years. A1/B1 matrix.
