Signed copy of STATUS QUO – Spare Parts LP (Blue label Pye – stereo)
Nice signed album! Signed in black marker by Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster & John Coghlan
Blue Pye label (NSPL 18301) Stereo
Cover and inner sleeve in excellent condition. A few light marks on the record which plays great, except for a single skip on Side 1, track 3 (Are you growing tired of my love) and Side 2, track 1 (Mr Mind Detector). The first skip seems to be a mark on the record but the second appears clear, so I do not know if a different player would make a difference? This record has hardly been played so no idea how this occurred.

This is a GREAT pop album, strings etc!
Status Quo played at Malton, North Yorkshire in 1971. I managed to get this album (plus ‘Ma Kelly’s Greasy Spoon’ – see my other auctions) & a poster signed which have been prized possessions ever since, however the albums are never played & I need to clear some of my collections – hence this sale. The LP(s) were signed in my presence shortly after the sound-check. It was the days of washed denim and Rick Parfitt wanted to buy my Levi jacket, but I refused (and I still have the jacket!!). I remember that the band turned up to the gig in a Triumph 2500 & the gear in a Long Wheel-base Transit. I think we were expecting the ‘pop’ version of Status Quo, but it was heads down boogie from the off & they went down a storm. A few weeks/months later ‘Dog of Two Head’ was released and the rest they say is history!
