Incredibly rare in this issue, this is the first album by the Hungarian prog group SYRIUS, recorded and originally printed in Australia by the SPIN label in 1971, one of the best albums to come from Eastern Europe, with notable jazz influences and a very nice musical quality.
The LP was issued a year later in Hungary with the title "Az ordog alarcosbalja" and a different cover.
The original issue, which is on sale here, has an odd cover with the record housed in a blank silver-coloured cover and contained in a plastic bag with the titles and notes printed in black. The original album is hard to find in any condition and often the plastic bag is missing or broken.
The band's bass player Jackie Orszaczky had a long career in Australia with Bakery and other groups.

COVER - The silver-coloured single cover is in VG+ condition only due to light age wear and a split on the top seam.
The printed plastic bag is also VG+ with an 8cm split along the right side and some opening edge wear, but the writings are fully readable.

INNER - Standard plastic protective bag.

VINYL - Clean and shiny, plays with some very light noise in the quietest parts. My grading is VG+ to EX.
Record playgraded using a Shure V15-Type III stylus at 1.5gr.

LABELS - Original orange Spin labels in nice condition with no tears or writings. The label on side 1 has an original round sticker with "Sample record - Not for sale".

MATRIX NUMBERS - Machine stamped on the vinyl, SMX 39227 2A (side 1) and SMX 39228 2A (side 2).

Gli estratti contengono sempre i primi brani di ogni facciata (che sono di solito

Album incredibilmente raro, l'LP di esordio del gruppo prog ungherese SYRIUS venne registrato e inizialmente pubblicato in Australia, uscito per l'etichetta SPIN nel 1971; sicuramente uno dei più bei dischi di quel periodo dall'Europa Orientale, con influenze jazz molto interessanti.
Il disco venne poi stampato anche in Ungheria dopo un anno con il nuovo titolo "Az Ordog Alarcosbalja" ed una diversa copertina.
L'originale, di cui la copia in vendita è un ottimo esemplare, è molto difficile da trovare in qualsiasi condizione e ha la particolarità del disco contenuto in una copertina di color argento senza scritte protetta da una busta in plastica trasparente con titoli e note stampati in nero. Questa busta è spesso mancante o gravemente danneggiata.
Il bassista dei Syrius, Jackie Orszaczky, rimase in Australia e ha avuto una lunga carriera con Bakery e altri gruppi piuttosto conosciuti.

COPERTINA - La copertina singola di color argento è in condizioni VG+ per leggera usura dovuta al tempo e un'apertura lungo il lato superiore.
La busta esterna in plastica stampata è anch'essa VG+, con il lato di apertura parzialmente arricciato e una spaccatura di 8 cm lungo il lato destro, ma tutte le scritte sono perfettamente leggibili.

BUSTA INTERNA - Busta protettiva in plastica.

VINILE - Pulito e brillante, suona con leggero rumore di fondo nelle parti a basso volume. La mia valutazione è tra il VG+ e l'EX.
Disco suonato con una testina Shure V15-Type III del peso di 1.5 gr.

ETICHETTE - Originali Spin di color arancione, in ottime condizioni senza strappi né scritte. Sul lato 1 è presente un piccolo adesivo originale rotondo con la scritta "Sample record - Not for sale".

NUMERI DI MATRICE - Stampati a macchina sul vinile, SMX 39227 2A (lato 1) e SMX 39228 2A  (lato 2).
