Here's something you don't see very often. A very sought-after rarity for collectors of P-Model(Susumu Hirasawa) and early Japanese synth wave, new wave, synthpop, minimal synth, technopop, electro/techno wave etc. Released by RVC in Japan. Original press from 1978 and it has never been reissued. Contains the very first officially recorded material by the legendary Susumu Hirasawa from his pre P-Model era. This compilation LP includes the ten winning artists of the synthesizer contest organized by the Japanese Playboy magazine in 1978. One of the main organizers of this contest, Isao Tomita(a well-known synth artist/composer from Japan) is the director of this release. He decided to compile some of the winning materials and release it on the LP after the contest since these works were done in the superb quality(especially the one by Hirasawa). Click here to go to the Isao Tomita Wikipedia page Susumu Hirsawa's music activities started as a progressive rock musician in a band called Mandrake('73~'78) and after this band broke up, he got into the synth stuff in '78 and formed P-Model in '79. His earliest synth music work with the song titled "Iriyou-bachi no Yuuwaku"( ???????? ) is included on this LP and is an exclusive track that can be found only on this release. The song itself was written during his Mandrake years, I think. But I'm don't have much info regarding this.

This LP has to be one of the rarest or possibly the rarest P-Model/Hirasawa-related releases of all. It's so obscure and unknown that you won't find much info regarding this release anywhere online, however I've seen it listed in the complete discography section on the official P-Model web site. This LP is extremely rare and hard to find even in Japan nowadays and I've seen it only once or twice within the past 20 years or so. It's highly sough after among the die-hard collectors of P-Model/Hiraswa in Japan. I seriously doubt you will ever see another copy of this LP for sale on ebay or anywhere else. Don't miss a chance to own this ultra rare gem!!!
The vinyl is in M- condition. Looks super clean for an LP that's 30+ years old! The thick cardboard sleeve is in VG condition with visible wear and ring wear, but no seam-splits, tears etc. Comes with original insert(some visible tear and wrinkles at the edges). The insert has liner-notes written by Isao Tomita, info on each song & equipments used, artist photos and the comments by each artist. Unfortunately I do not have any info on the other artists on this LP but there are some excellent music on it! Overall a really cool compilation. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
