PICNIC: A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
ORIGINAL UK HARVEST (SHSS1/2) FIRST PRESSING (June 1970) OF "Picnic: A Breath Of Fresh Air" - THE LABELS DOUBLE LP SAMPLER MOST FAMOUS (and sought after) FOR THE PINK FLOYD TRACK "Embyro" (which was not available on vinyl anywhere else at the time and the set was almost immediately withdrawn at the request of Pink Floyd who didn't want the track released)
PRESSED ON TWO QUALITY MID/HEAVYWEIGHT RECORDS WITH THE UK HARVEST GREEN/YELLOW LABELS (no EMI logo) AND "The Gramophone Co. Ltd" TOP RIM TEXT (the same as all pressings of this LP as it was never re-issued)

LABELS: The labels are clean, fresh and unmarked with light/moderate spindle traces - played but not over-played - EXCELLENT
VINYL Visual: All four vinyl surfaces retain their original deep, like-new lustre with just some superficial light hairlines and one or two tiny little scuffs only - of no real audio consequence - EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: Outstanding sound quality with little to fault. The audio covers an amazing dynamic range (from the hard rocking Deep Purple - which has a surprisingly muddy mix on this set, to the beautiful, quiet medieval sound of The Third Ear Band) and is crystal clear, deep, rich and warm throughout. On playback at a very loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing and I love this set - superb material highlighting Harvest's extremely impressive roster of talent ) there are no scratches or any audio issues, just the occasional, intermittent light click/pop (nothing continuous and nothing I found at all intrusive). Both records play to a very high standard with no groove-wear or distortion have great clarity, sound superb and are strictly critically graded at least an EXCELLENT to (+) for audio - very nice copy indeed
SLEEVE: The original outer laminated gatefold cover is also in great condition with virtually no wear to speak of on its edges and a nice clean, clear spine. The outer laminated surfaces have a beautiful deep, glossy sheen with only a little rubbing/record impression and the unlaminated inside (picturing the records featured on this compilation) is clean, fresh and unmarked - a strong EXCELLENT
