Birchmount  BM-501, 1969 original issue Stereo pressing (Canada)

 

  Very rare, obscure and unique 60's femme vocal downer pop-rock psychedelia from Quebec Canada featuring a great mix of covers and originals.     The 5 originals penned by brothers Greg and Fergus Hambleton of the Canadian psychedelic band "A Passing Fancy" are the real standouts of this LP.    The Hambletons also produce and play on this LP.     One of the highlights on the album, the song "Island",  even shows up on the coveted  "A Passing Fancy" album, released just a couple of months earlier.     Suzanne's voice is totally sexy, trippy and delicious, the organ vibes are fab   Fantastic gloomy breezy pop-psych reminiscent of recordings by Mary Saxton ("Sad Eyes" LP, also on Birchmount), Nico, Judy Henske and Karen Dalton.   Tracks: This Girl's in Love Weather Do You Know the Way I Love How You Love Me Shendah Traces You Try Without You Island Anyone Who Had a Heart   This collectable also holds the distiction of being the very first release on the Birchmount label.
