Description
TITLE/ARTIST: Please continue to check out all current and future listings as everything from my personal collection will eventually come up for sale - 45's, Pic Sleeves, EP's and LP's from the '50's, '60's, and much, much more - all "oldies" and all in great condition! Here is one of those extremely rare and very difficult to find early 60's LP`s by The Supremes, on the original, Motown label from 1963. It is the ultra rare, first released cover with the three girls sitting on bar stools amidst a orange or red colored background which makes this piece so highly valued and desired (see all 12 pictures above). This was the group's very 1st album - which was later released with the more popular cover we that are more familiar with - was entitled, "Meet The Supremes", and features 10 early songs from before they hit the real bigtime. Most of these songs were written by Smokey Robinson and/or Berry Gordy - before the successful team of Holland, Dozier, and Holland came onto the scene. LABEL INFO: This original Motown Label (606) is in MONO, and is close to perfect with no serious issues at all - I don't even see too many spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it had very light play. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl is extremely shiny, clean, and nice - and also close to perfect - with just a few super light, and completely uneventful, "paper lines" on either side, but nothing too serious, believe me. JACKET INFO: Finally, the all important and highly collectible jacket is also in very good overall condition, especially considering how rare it is to find anymore - but it's not perfect by any means. There is some early signs of "aging" on either side, several small scuff marks along parts of the seams, a 1" seam split in the very top, right corner, some light ring wear/scratch marks in a couple of places, and a previous owner's name writing in the same color marker (orange or red) in the front side, top corner. I've tried to picture this last issue in the pics above, but it is really quite light and, in fact, hardly noticeable a first glance - really. OK, having said all this, I would still have to say that the all important front and back sides are basically in very good shape. But, please view all 12 pictures above and make your own decisions, or email me if you want further information about anything here. INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, in my opinion, this rare and highly collectible early 60's LP by one of the greatest female groups of all time is in very good overall condition - and you just don't see this one too much anymore. So, please have at it and then continue to check this site for more great conditioned "oldies" from my personal collection. As I have already mentioned, I am selling off my entire collection, and there are 100's more to get to yet -- of all genre's, sizes, and varieties. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! If anyone ever needs more info than what is listed, please email me. I will respond! POSTAGE/HANDLING CHARGES: In the United States, the buyer agrees to pay $5.00 (Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation) for the first LP purchased, and then just $1.00 per LP after that-----so, buy in quantity and save. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces. The charges for overseas are listed in the shipping category below--$23.00 for the 1st LP and then just $4.00 per LP after that. PLEASE NOTE: I take a great deal of pride in packaging all my mailings both safely and securely. However, I cannot be responsible for records that are lost or damaged by either US or overseas Postal Services. But, for additional fees, I will gladly ship the packages Priority Mail and/or add insurance! Please email me with either, or both, requests if this is of interest to you. Also, please continue to check out "rogersrecords" on ebay for future collectible records of all types. There are many more to come! browser does not support JavaScript.
