Excellent copy of this sought after SUN RA record. It's the original pressing on Philly Jazz 666 from 1978. I bought this back in 1978 and listened to it maybe one time. The vinyl looks clean and plays so nice. There is some surface noise for the first 26 seconds or so. I think it is the pressing that caused the minor glitch. It's in the quiet keyboard part in the first 26 seconds. The sax kicks in and you can no longer hear it.
On to the silence between song 1 and 2 - I hear no noise whatsoever. Song 2 plays great - no noise that I can hear. The silence between song 2 and 3 - no noise whatsoever. Song 3 - no noise at all.
Side 2 - hardly any noise in the run on groove. Song 1 - I may have heard a tiny tic. Silence between songs 1 and 2 - no noise at all. Song 2 - I hear no discernable noise. This vinyl plays really nice throughout.
The cover shows the typical ring wear for this LP. Actually a little less than most I've seen. See pics. It sat in my collection since 1978. It has that minor corner bend you see in some offerings. The spine with the title shows wear. See pic. I took pics of each side of the LP. The labels are pretty clean with vague spindle marks.
It will be hard to find this LP in this condition. It really is in excellent shape. If you want insurance you can pay more if you like. Just a heads up. If you think you may want to switch this copy with your lesser quality copy in a return - think again. I have had others try to pull that stunt. I caught them every time with my fool proof method of ascertaining the LP I sent IS the LP I sent - not a trade out.
