SUN #221 JOHNNY CASH - 78 RPM RECORD - CRY CRY CRY/HEY, PORTER
You are bidding on a very nice example of an early Sun Record out of Memphis, Tennessee. The legendary Sun label owned by Sam Phillips where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash,Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Charlie Feathers, Billy Lee Riley, B.B. King and countless others walked across the threshold at 706 Union to make some killer recordings. Before Sam was knocking out Country and Rock-a-billy records he was listening to some great Gospel and Blues.
This is a great example of the first Johnny Cash release which dates from 1955. It's one of the tougher Suns to find on Cash.
LABELS- Very Nice. No writing, tears, stickers or other distractions.
PLAYING SURFACES- VG/VG in 45 terms. This is a very respectable copy with nice labels. Some scuffs and scratches. Slight surface noise. No cracks, chips, labels or other distractions. Keep in mind that I'm a collector, not a grading expert. This is a very nice piece for the Country/Rockabilly collector or Sun Completist! If you don't like it send it back and I'll refund your money plus postage.
NO RESERVE and the starting bid is 99 cents! You tell me what they are worth. Sure would love to keep the whole collection, but if you saw the basement, garage and storage area you would tell me to downsize. Also have dreams of buying my daughter an early Gibson "A" style mandolin for her birthday so it's time to raise some funds!!!
