THIS COPY IS IN SUPERB CONDITION AND APPEARS TO HAVE SEEN VERY LITTLE (IF ANY) PLAY
THE FIRST ISSUE A&M MUSTARD COLOURED LABELS ARE CLEAN AND BRIGHT WITH NO SPINDLE TRACES AND THE VINYL DELIVERS CRYSTAL CLEAR, WARM AND RICH AUDIO THROUGHOUT
IT IS ALSO PRESSED ON WHAT APPEARS AT FIRST GLANCE TO BE STANDARD BLACK VINYL BUT WHICH WHEN HELD UP TO THE LIGHT REVEALS ITS TRUE TRANSLUCENT DEEP RED COLOUR (a characteristic of very early 1970s PYE pressings) (please see photo, but difficult to capture well as the camera had to be pointed directly into the light)

GREAT UK FIRST PRESSING OF ONE OF STRAWBS' FINEST LPs AND RARE AS THE PYE PRESSED VARIANT, ESPECIALLY IN SUCH WONDERFUL CONDITION

Following the success of Antiques And Curios, the same line-up recorded its first studio album. However, musical differences emerged, which caused the making of Witchwood to be very uncomfortable, with Hudson, Ford and Cousins arguing about tracks for the album, and Wakeman being so busy with sessions work that he frequently had to overdub his parts later. It is nevertheless many a fan's favourite, with some wonderful, haunting songs, many of which have stood the test of time and are still part of the live set today

LABELS: The 1st MUSTARD labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO wear, marks or writing and NO evident spindle traces. IN MY OPINION THIS COPY HAS HARDLY EVER BEEN PLAYED
VINYL Visual: The vinyl retains its DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY sheen and is practically UNMARKED
VINYL Audio: TREMENDOUS DEEP, RICH and WARM SOUND - BEAUTIFULLY RECORDED. On playback at a LOUD volume there are NO jumps, NO sticks, NO scratches and barely any clicks or pops (really, hardly any). The first track 'A Glimpse Of Heaven' plays with a couple of very brief patches of interference - nothing I found particularly intrusive and really, very minor - but the rest of the LP plays pretty much FLAWLESSLY throughout and sounds wonderful. Critically graded overall, an EXCELLENT+ for audio - TREMENDOUS LP
SLEEVE: The original GATEFOLD cover is in EXCELLENT condition. Apart from some very light marks to the untreated, matte surfaces the sleeve is in GREAT shape with practically NO wear to the edges or spine - where all text is CLEAR and BOLD
