Hate
This band came out of San Antonio, Texas, and just 150 copies of this garage gem were pressed on their own label. A popular local live attraction, they formed in the Spring of 1965 but split by February 1967. Quillian and Ash had wanted to play Kinks songs but the rest wanted instead to reproduce a Rolling Stones sound. Bill Ash went on to play briefly with The Mind's Eye although he didn't play on their 45. Curiously, The Mind's Eye became The Children, who also recorded a version of The Stoics Enough Of What I Need.
Compilation appearances include: Enough Of What I Need and Hate on Mindrocker, Vol. 4 (LP), Acid Visions - The Complete Collection Vol. 1 (3-CD), Acid Visions (LP); Enough Of What I Need on Pebbles, Vol. 1 (ESD) (CD); Hate on Trash Box (5-CD), Teenage Shutdown, Vol. 10 (LP & CD) and Best of Pebbles, Vol. 2 (LP & CD). - fuzz acid and flowers
