Description
This is a once in a lifetime chance to own 1 of the copies of Jackson C Franks 1965 self titled LP produced by Paul Simon, and Owned by Jackson C Frank himself and given to close friends.
The title musical genius is an over used term but in this mans case it's totally warranted. A very shy and deeply troubled individual who struggled with his own demons for most of his life and sadly passed away in almost obscurity in 1999.
The copy i have for auction is one of the copies i understand Jackson gave as gifts, this particular copy has a very poignant personal message written by Jackson C Frank in red felt pen and the passage reads as follows "
"paul talked me out of a public dedication, but then you lifted me out of my pain and showed me that goodness was still there in others for me. These are the poems of my soul take them good friend with humility I offer them. Peace my brother jackson"
I can't say which of his friends the dedication is for but it's more than likely to be one of the following
Al Stewart
Roy Harper
Le Patron
Art Garfunkle
Art Garfunkle and Al Stewart were know to have attended the recording session Le Patron lived down stairs from Jackson at 50 Cole Park Road.
And Roy Harper was just a close friend. Whoever the dedication is to must have been in the Jackson inner circle of friends because he starts the dedication with Paul (paul Simon) talked me out of etc etc
The condition of the Record hardly matters in this instant but here it is
Vinyl Side one is nice and clean and plays loud and clear with just a but of background. Side two has some noticeable surface marks no deep scratches and again plays nice and loud. Overall grade VG
Cover some creasing along the spine and again around the top left corner bottom right front damaged (see picture 7) Rear of cover has 3 small tears along the opening overall grade G+
