Description

This is ""musique pour le film d'un ami" by Steve Potts - longtime associate of Steve Lacy. A very rare and great LP on the French "1-2-3" or "Un Deux Trois" label from the early 70s. Mixed by Jef Gilson at the Palm Studio. Feature Potts with Elie Ferre, Christian Escoude, Kenny Tyler, Ambrose Jackson, Keno Speller, Gus Nemeth and more. Tracks range from funky guitar laden free/soul jazz to more tango-inspired tracks with ethnic percussions. A very cool album and hard to find. Cover is VG+ with tape on top and bottom seams and a tiny seam split beginning to appear on the middle of the spine. Front cover is signed/dedicated by Steve Potts! Vinyl looks real clean but plays a strong VG+ to EX... track one has some crackling in the background for the first minute maybe but the rest of the LP plays nice with just the occasional soft tick. Fans of strata east, spiritual jazz, etc take note.
