Description
- Steppenwolf released their self-titled debut album in January 1968 on Dunhill / ABC Records. It is often referred to incorrectly as their "Born To Be Wild" album because it is printed in large type under the band's name on the cover. It was a Top 10 album and the single of "Born To Be Wild" reached No. 2 on the charts.
- This copy of (DS-50029) is from the First Pressing and is in Near-Mint condition with its original Factory Shrink Wrap still largely attached over the rare Foil Cover. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Sam Feldman at Bell Sound Studios in NYC and pressed using parts from Longwear Plating in Long Island City, NY. The Side One dead wax is etched DS 50029-A2 LW and stamped with Bell Sound sf.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 53 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
