SERGE CHALOFF – PLAYS THE FABEL OF MABEL – STORYVILLE 317 – 10” LP – EX/EX – MONO
Recorded in Boston.MA in late March of 1954, this session features Serge Chaloff on baritone, Herb Pomeroy on trumpet, Charlie Mariano on alto, Nick Capaszutto and Gene DiStachio on trombones, Dick Twardzik on piano, Ray Olivaeri on bass and Jimmy Zitano on drums. SIDE 1: THE FABEL OF MABEL; SHERRY and SLAM. Side 2: A SALUTE TO TINY; EENIE MEENIE MODE and LET’S JUMP. This is the original Storyville release of this material and is a MONO recording.
I have graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl on Side 1 is completely clear of any marks. Side 2 is clear as well, with the exception of cut #3, which has a surface mark, which does not interfere with play in any way. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole on either side of the LP. There is a name sticker on Side 1. The record jacket is in excellent condition with one very small taped seam on the bottom right corner. There is some slight discoloration on both the cover and the liner notes from age.
