Description

SAX 2386 BS Beethoven; Violin C. Kogan. Silvestri/OSCC. Columbia blue silver label. UK 1959. stereo. YLX 1052-1, YLX 1053-1.

This record and sleeve are in superb condition and appears to have been hardly played. However, there is a mark at the start of side one which produces ticks on and off for three and a half minutes. The rest of the record sounds superb.

With 10,000+ positive feedbacks and an ebay member since 2001 you can buy from me with confidence.

For worldwide shipping costs for 1 to 7 records see further down the page. The more records you win the cheaper the postage. (Just like a discount). If you would like cheaper shipping see my eBay "me" page for further details.

I always keep "Proof of Posting" receipts. If an item is lost in the post I have to fill in a claim form to the Royal Mail. Unless you take out adequate insurance cover the maximum they will compensate is the value of the item up to 30GBP. They may deny responsibility if it is lost in another country. If in doubt it is always best to insure. Any item over 30GBP in value MUST be insured.

The records and sleeves are visually graded through magnifying glasses under a 100W lightbulb and then again in strong daylight (when we have it in the UK) and play graded if necessary. Stereo records will be play graded on a GARRARD 4O1 turntable with an Evolution Parallel Tracking Air Bearing Tonearm (reviewed in Hi-Fi World magazine June 2007) and SHURE V15VxMR cartridge. Mono records will be played on the same set up with a GRAD0 Prestige MC+ dedicated mono cartridge. When play graded the results will be reported above.

I am now selling 100+ records every week on eBay by daily or weekly auctions and "My Ebay Shop".

I have thousands of classical vinyl records on various labels including some which I am gradually selling at just 1.00GBP each with "Buy it Now" on my eBay shop and not by auction.

GRADING

M = A 'Mint' record and sleeve has never been played, or played just once or twice with one or two spindle marks only, and may still be in it's original wrapping.

M- = As above but with more than a couple of spindle marks.

NM = A 'Near Mint' grade record will have no marks on the vinyl, but maybe just needs a clean, and a crisp clean sleeve.

Ex = An 'Excellent' grade record and sleeve may have only a few light non-sounding superficial surface marks and scuffs but no major scratches.

VG = A 'Very Good' grade record will have more or heavier surface marks and/or sleeve wear but should play without any major deterioration of sound quality.

G = A 'Good' grade record and sleeve has been played so often that there is noticeable deterioration of sound quality with possibly some distortion and mild scratches. The cover will be well worn and possibly torn.

+/- may be used with the above descriptions.

Any record and sleeve of a lower quality than 'Good' is discarded.

Only records of Mint or Near Mint (or occasionally Excellent) quality will be listed on eBay.

Some records in our catalogue are 50 years old or more and may need cleaning. We recommend that all records (even new ones due to the mould inhibitor and release agents used in manufacturing the discs) are professionally cleaned on a Moth, Nitty Gritty, Keith Monks, VPI or some other such machine.

We now have a Moth MKII and a Nitty Gritty 2.5Fi Record Cleaning Machines.

Just 0.99GBP per record.

Price includes a new top quality inner sleeve (you do not put clean feet into dirty socks).

All records are covered by our money back, no quibble, guarantee once they have been returned to us in the same condition as when they were sent. See our 'Feedback' on eBay for our level of service.

I prefer Money or Postal Orders in GBP, Cheques in GBP drawn on a UK bank (PayPal is ok from non UK customers but please be aware that they charge me 3.9% plus 0.20GBP, I also have to pay these PayPal charges on your shipping costs).

I will only accept PayPal as a last resort from UK customers as their fees to me  are 3.4% plus £0.20. I also have to pay these PayPal charges on your shipping costs. I do NOT  pass this charge on.

For UK customers a cheque is preferred NOT PayPal. A cheque just costs you the price of a stamp. A UK internet bank transfer costs nothing. However, I know how convenient PayPal is so if you can't send a cheque or a transfer then I will just have to accept PayPal.

Buyer pays all postage and packing costs.

All records professionally packed. Seller had 28 years experience in management within the packaging industry.

Shipping Costs

POSTAGE AND PACKING COSTS ARE IN BRITISH POUNDS GBP BY AIRMAIL [Royal Mail now charge the same rates for all destinations outside of Europe].

Superior Packaging

All of my single and double records are sent in dedicated card mailing envelopes with 2 or 3 cardboard stiffners with the corrugated flutes at 90 degrees to each other for added rigidity, the vinyl is removed from the outer covers and placed in polythene sleeves. Muliple records (3 or more) or boxsets are sent in dedicated corrugated cardboard boxes and then, where possible, placed in a Postal Bag. Red "Fragile" stickers are used both sides plus senders name and address for security reasons. If you request different or extra packing (which shouldn't be needed as my records are packed professionally) then I reserve the right to increase my packing costs which the buyer must pay. For example; if you have won 1 or 2 single lp's and you would prefer a corrugated box AND a postal bag please add 1GBP to the above shipping costs within the UK and 1.50GBP worldwide and notify me of your request.

If you want cheaper packing please let me know.
