I was not the first owner of this record but I do remember where and when I bought it was in Cheapo Cheapo Records in Soho in 1969  and cost me 25/- a lot of money for a used record at the time especially as that long gone 3 story treasure trove of a shop usually lived up to its name, but they were also shrewd judges of their vast stock and this record initially had limited press runs and was not released in the U.S.A where ultimately Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown and later to find fame and fortune! Why do I remember well the night before I had witnessed  Savoy Brown's ("A step Forward line-up) going down a storm. They were still playing songs from their 2nd album "Blue Matter" such as the wonderful Louisiana Blues but were expanding their music and becoming a rock band with blues roots.
Their 1st album is made up entirely of  Blues covers and has been a favourite of mine for 48 years!

When I became a member of the eBay community in April 2004 The first items I sold were Vinyl records and I was blown away that my Beatles records were so popular and I was posting records to Japan, Australia, France and Germany and it was always my intention to auction off almost all of my records but so many things got in the way of me doing this, but now the tracks (pun intended) are clear for me to start listing records again.
I am not a dealer, and all items offered for sale are from my personal collection. I do use my personal knowledge and the guidance available on the internet & eBay to describe my items accurately. It is important to me that buyers are happy with their purchases particularly those items which I have owned for a long time,
I grade my records in line with UK Record Collector grading system. As follows:
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality.
The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some
distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

Only played a few times (IN 48 YEARS) as record was recorded to cassette tape and stored upright in a customised unit. I did play and copy to CD Audio disc in 1994, and have just played it all the way through on a new turntable which I have recently purchased to test my records before listing on eBay.

Sounded great some light surface noise in between otherwise just the fantastic mono sound and standout performances especially Kim Simmonds and Martin Stone.

So it's an Excellent rating for the record.

The printed Robert Stace cover is rather thin and flexible and prone to creasing and it is not in clean or pristine condition particularly noticeable on the back cover, but I would rate it better than Good, but not quite Very Good and the original Poly lined Decca inner record sleeve is in Very Good condition.
