Important General Information
This and upcoming auctions of vintage LPs, EPs and select 45s are a continuation of my earlier offerings of 2001. Most of the pieces are from my personal collection of over 45 years of accumulation. The music genres are largely rock, psych, garage, blues and progressive material. Some albums retain their original shrink wrap. Most contain any and all inserts that were used in packaging and have their original inner sleeves.
The material is graded conservatively using Jerry Osborn’s grading criteria, with one exception. I play grade each piece ( except 45s ) in addition to visually grading the items under proper lighting. Each album offered has been converted to digital format and put into my library. That is how I’ve play graded each one. I use high end audio equipment while doing the conversions. The amplifier is a Nakamichi Receiver 3, the turntable is a Denon DP-45F and the cartridge used is a Audiotecnica Dual Moving Magnetic unit. It tracks at .75 grams of pressure to the vinyl.
GRADING IS NOTED BY COVER/SLEEVE FIRST, THEN VINYL. (EG. NM/VG+ )
ARTIST: Savoy Brown
TITLE: A Step Further
LABEL: DECCA Import from UK LK 5013
RELEASE DATE: 1969
COMMENTS: Founded in 1966 by guitarist Kim Simmonds, this hard rock/boogie act was originally
named The Savoy Brown Blues Band to reflect it's Chicago Blues-Style repertoire. A
Step Further, originally called Asylum, was released in the Us to coincide with the
band's second American tour. One track, " I'm Tired ", was released as a single in
the US and reached #74 on the charts. The album continued the formula of the previous LP
- one side live, one side studio. They went on to release multiple LPs with wonderful album
art design and hard driving bluesy rock! I will have many of their subsequent release
available in future auctions. This is the only import of theirs that I own.
CONDITION: The cover is the standard thinner cardstock import. It is very glossy and is free of
defects on the front. The price sticker would be a notable exception to perfection. The
reverse shows a bit of ring outline against the otherwise white backround. There are no
tears, or seam splits. It has it's appropriate original inner sleeve too. NM-/NM
