Rufus Thomas "Bear Cat" 78 record in original sleeve reasonably priced - No signs of being played, very clean original sheen; has a few scuffs (see images) but grooves are intact. Further, the scuffs I see on this Sun record are common with other Sun 78's I have sold; I believe these marks were made when the record was pressed. I do not play or test records, I leave them untouched. I do gently clean the vinyl and then air dry.
The history of the 78 records I sell is interesting - we bought out the entire inventory of an old closed up record shop in NYC back in the 70's. Much of the inventory was new 78's records, and this Sun record was among them. Since we bought them, the records were boxed and stored for decades. This record is still in the original paper sleeve (notice the paper tab glued on the side of the sleeve with the number "181" to make it easier to locate while stored on a rack where the shop stored their records)
It's kind of "odd" to call a nearly 70 year old record "New" - but these records are in that condition; I do not sell used records, and I believe this copy has not be played, and positively has never been retailed.
I guarantee the record is as described, and do my very best to give all the known info on any item I sell. I pack these beauties extremely well - the record will be first surrounded with bubble wrap, then protected both sides with 1" thick rigid foam board, then boxed. I insure the record to it's full value, and ship USPS Priority mail; in most cases a 2 - 3 day delivery.
